Wishes

How many times do our thoughts to ourselves start with "I wish..." and of course, these wishes just don't come true? I'd say, if you're anywhere near human, rather than superhuman, that's a relatively common occurrance. But what DO you wish for?

I love the Declaration of Independence

Well, I didn't when I was young. I just liked the title. It was just enough "in your face" to please a kid, and the mushy wordsy stuff after that just, well... bored me. Of course, when you're 8 or 11, or 14... or even 19, those "wordsy" things are often not all that important. After all, we're living in the moment, and the future is a long, long ways off. But that was, sadly, decades ago, and now I'm suddenly, surprisingly, living my own future. You know, the serious one, the one that shapes me more than I can shape it.

What to do about Obamacare (part 2)

Word to the GOP, Part 2:

In part 1, I opined that "Since the Democrats have completely and utterly broken health care, you now have to actually FIX it. This means, you have to ACTUALLY address what's wrong. I realize that before the argument about Obamacare, you probably had no idea what was already wrong. So, no only do you have to undo that monster, you have to actually ADDRESS FIXING WHAT IS BROKEN." and here's the "why" you must not only repeal, but you must proactively engage to fix the broken bits. Well, in this case, the most is broken, and only the bits are working.

Tanning tax?

I hereby respectfully suggest that from this moment on, no salon offer tanning services. That's right, no further tanning services. None. Zilch. What, then, to do with all those machines and space? I don't know, I was thinking that the Salon install speakers inside, and play "mood music". And then charge for "Stress Isolation and Sound and Skin stimulation".

Change the rates slightly, never refer to it as "tanning" again.

And, further, NEVER PAY A FREAKING DIME OF TAX.
