The consequences of not playing politics
Submitted by Mark K on Thu, 08/13/2009 - 20:17The media today has some stories about how the Senate has agreed to remove the "end of life" provisions from its version of "Obamacare". There's some jubilant people right now, thinking they've won a victory. No, you're going to have a huge loss.
As for me, the only thing I want to happen, is to have actual healthcare improvements. I want less government interference, I want less mandates, I want fewer intrusions. I want some free market improvements in health care. That's what I want. That's what we NEED. That's the REAL answer, not creeping socialism.

The Sarah Phenomenon
Submitted by Mark K on Sat, 07/11/2009 - 14:38This is a work in progress, so forgive me if it seems a little disjointed at first. I've decided to address why many fail to grasp why Palin's popular... and at the same time, address why I think she'd be fine in government.
What provoked me is a Peggy Noonan column, and of course, the incessant droning of Rod Dreher.
Noonan here: http://pnwcc.info/node/73
Dreher here: http://blog.beliefnet.com/crunchycon/2009/07/sarah-palins-epitaph-by-peg...
There's more, but for now, I'll leave it at these...
Here's a quote from Noonan:

Sarah Palin
Submitted by Mark K on Sat, 07/04/2009 - 22:02I'm starting a book about Palin, since it appears she's intending to have impact in our future.
This will be articles about her, statements, speeches, etc.
