According to the formulas in the bill itself, my familys health care costs are going to go from about $5600 annually ($100 biweekly + $3000 I sit aside in a medical spending account) to somewhere between $72-7500. My company has already informed me that they're just going to pay the penalty and dump Blue Cross, so my family is headed for the government plan and theres nothing I can do about it.

Redefining "Insurance" back to being Insurance.
Submitted by Mark K on Sun, 04/04/2010 - 14:30Wealthy people often hire people to do "menial" stuff for them. They hire accountants to manage thier taxes and savings and checking accounts. They hire nannies and butlers and chefs. Why? One, they can afford it, and two, often their time is far better used at generating income. Let's imagine that I help businesses improve productivity. I spend 3 days at a business's main location, and use my observational powers, gained experience, and "through much effort" gained knowledge, to improve how a business uses people, resources, even improve quality and manufacturing efficiency.
What to do about Obamacare. (Part 1)

Let me explain.

Tanning tax?
Submitted by Mark K on Thu, 03/25/2010 - 00:04I hereby respectfully suggest that from this moment on, no salon offer tanning services. That's right, no further tanning services. None. Zilch. What, then, to do with all those machines and space? I don't know, I was thinking that the Salon install speakers inside, and play "mood music". And then charge for "Stress Isolation and Sound and Skin stimulation".
Change the rates slightly, never refer to it as "tanning" again.
And, further, NEVER PAY A FREAKING DIME OF TAX.
