Looking down on Palin
Beltway elites can't figure out why the hoi polloi like her

What do Janet Napolitano, Kathleen Sebelius and Jon Huntsman have in common? All were governors who resigned this year to pursue other opportunities, and did so without a peep of criticism from journalists or their fellow pols for "quitting" on the peoples of Arizona, Kansas and Utah, respectively.

The Sarah Phenomenon

This is a work in progress, so forgive me if it seems a little disjointed at first. I've decided to address why many fail to grasp why Palin's popular... and at the same time, address why I think she'd be fine in government.

What provoked me is a Peggy Noonan column, and of course, the incessant droning of Rod Dreher.

Noonan here: http://pnwcc.info/node/73
Dreher here: http://blog.beliefnet.com/crunchycon/2009/07/sarah-palins-epitaph-by-peg...

There's more, but for now, I'll leave it at these...

Here's a quote from Noonan:

Peggy Noonan on Palin

From the online version of WSJ, I can't post a permanent link...

A Farewell to Harms
Palin was bad for the Republicans—and the republic.

Palin 1, Pundits 0

The usual political calculations simply do not apply to Sarah Palin. One thing is already clear -- her base is still with her, and Sarah Palin is poised to grow.

Everyone -- especially those in the political pundit class seems to be calling Sarah Palin a loser, a quitter, a committer of political suicide by leaving office mid-term.

They are all very wrong.
