Why libs can't understand basic economics...

For the average individual, we understand that to get something, we have to produce something. That's the essence of trade... Grow wheat, trade for plow to help you grow more. Capitalism at work. It's a lovely thing.

All successful people have a set of skills that are valuable. Sometimes it's management ability. Sometimes it's just the ability to stand at a machine and crank out lots of unblemished parts. Or, fix cars, or fix people.

Inherently, most people grasp that in order to HAVE, you have to PRODUCE. And, you have to produce something that people are willing to trade you something valuable in exchange.

But the modern left ignores this completely.

They seek "solutions" to "poverty". So, what is poverty? Having nothing. What do you have to do to have nothing? Nothing. Poverty is the default state of everyone.

So, if you're poor, what do you think you need? If you say "handout", you'll never succeed. If you say "to find a way to produce more wealth and capitalize on that wealth", you're not going to be poor for too long.

So, what is the modern socialist, or leftist version of getting out of poverty? Produce more wealth? heck no. They believe the solution is to redistribute the pie.

In modern society, what is the most common means of finding opportunity to produce? Well, working for someone else.

The next most common, is to work for yourself, start your own business.

So, if you want to REALLY help people get out of poverty, you need to improve the conditions that influence people's ability to get a job, or start their own business.

But, what does the left do? Taxes business, decreasing its ability to hire productively. Mandate large expenses on employers and the self employed. And then, it spends that money to hire people to NOT produce wealth.
